Tutorial 4: Utilitarianism and Deontology

In the week 3 lecture, Simon introduced the ethical theories of utilitarianism and deontology. Throughout the subject, these theories will provide a framework for evaluating why we work towards certain ethical principles. They can be used to provide systematic arguments to answer practical questions in (AI) ethics.

In this tutorial we will:

1. Reinforce our understanding of utilitarianism and deontology

2. Critically apply ethical frameworks to a real-life contemporary case of AI
